Real Wedding Inspiration: Ainee & Le's Romantic Ceremony

At most weddings I get a little camera happy taking photos of all the details, but at this one all I found were the ceremony pictures below...Maybe it was all the detailed moving parts I had to help coordinate, like the horse & carriage entrance, but I guess I didn't have time to take pictures. Luckily, the two I have are great & show off the romantic ambiance of Ainee & Le's ceremony.

For the arrival of their guests & the ceremony music, Ainee & Le opted for a traditional, classical approach, using the talented harp & woodwind performers from our vendor list.

They had the arbor softened up with sheer white fabric & lots of romantic floral details by Petals by Xavi. Also notice the pink uplights they had shining through the white fabric to further enhance the warm look of the arbor. The florists also draped fabric all the way down the aisle over several pedestals with beautiful arrangements on top. Finally, below the arbor we set up a small table for their sand ceremony. The end result, perfection!

We hope you had a wonderful wedding Ainee & Le!

Real Wedding Inspiration: Sarah & Juan's Tiffany Blue Wedding

Nothing says marry me like a little teal box (what girl doesn't love Tiffany's after all?). In this case, our couple of love birds, Sarah & Juan, decided to continue the Tiffany blue color scheme into their wedding ceremony & reception.

The seating cards had pretty teal printed names with a teal diamond on the top left corner to further dress them up.

Their wedding programs also looked very elegant & were tied together with a teal ribbon.

For the ceremony this couple chose to keep it simple & classy with our white four post arbor, a beautiful white center spray of flowers, & white petals down the aisle. Also they had candles in vases at the beginning & end of the aisle that brought in their teal color scheme.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the cocktail hour outside on the terrace where our trees are lit up making for a lovely view. The lake on the golf course has a fountain which can be lit up as well that looks fantastic at night.

Next guests were welcomed into the Pine Hurst Room & found their tables with these teal adorned table numbers on cute Eiffel Tower holders.

The tables had teal linen with silver chargers & alternating all white short & tall arrangements by our preferred vendor, Sun Kissed Flowers. The full white hydrangeas with delicate white roses were the perfect subtle arrangement to compliment the upscale look of the tables.
Now for the lovely cake by our preferred vendor Jaqki's Bakery-They went with a youthful Hello Kitty topper with lots of detailed floral designs on the cake.

On their way out, the guests could pick from the adorable bride & groom favor boxes of candies (notice the teal ribbon they added to the bride's dress) or the handmade flowers inside of customized teal shot glasses for the guests who didn't have a sweet tooth.
From beginning to end, this wedding was perfectly pulled together with Tiffany Blue (aka teal) details throughout.

Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. on a wonderful wedding & an amazing future together!

Real Wedding Inspiration: Amy & Garrett's Fine Wine Love Affair

Another fantastic wedding at Porter Valley-Amy & Garrett enjoyed a wine themed wedding & reception with their family & friends. They chose a rich maroon & ivory color scheme to go with their theme & added several extra touches that made their wedding special.

Scrolls with a thoughtful message to guests were displayed in a personalized wood box at the reception table

The seating cards were fittingly propped on top of wine bottle corks

A pretty bird cage where guests could leave cards for the bride & groom was also placed next to the guest book

The ceremony was elaborately decorated with shepherds hooks holding up hanging rose balls of alternating fall colors
The arbor looked very nice with extra draping
The center spray floral arrangement was very autumnal & brought in all their colors perfectly
The couple chose cute sand ceremony vases shaped like hearts for the symbolic tradition
Chocolates that said "Love" on them were at the bar for the guests who had a sweet tooth
And for the cigar connoisseur, a cigar bar was set up outside for guests to enjoy on the terrace
Of course a custom menu of the hosted bar options was in order for this wine themed wedding
The fresh fruit punch & champagne punch display was decorated to theme by our staff.

Tables had menus in a pocket fold maroon napkin, as well as the "LOVE" glass coasters for the party favors placed at each seating. One of our preferred florist, David Blair, did an excellent job bringing Fall colors and lots of texture to the tables with these lovely centerpieces.

Their tables were named after different wines to go with the theme of the night and the signs were placed on tiny easels on top of mirrors with little glass crystals tossed around. To top off the look they had rose petals sprinkled about the table.

And here's the room, all finished with guests seated outside for the ceremony...

The couple opted for adding in maroon sashes to complete the look of the room as well as having us light the posts and drape them in sheer fabric.

Our Banquet Captain Chris Garcia, pulls out all the stops when it comes to decorating our buffet tables. Lovely job Chris!

Love this Fall colored sweetheart table that was spilling over with an abundance of flowers. Also, adore the peacock fold our staff made with the couple's napkins, which really complimented the table's decor
Amy & Garrett said "I Do", and so did their cake! These wood cut outs spelling out their promise was very sweet. The pretty cake made by our preferred vendor, Delicious Bakery, was topped with their initials and decorated with vibrant flowers. I do hope you enjoyed this recap and we do wish Amy & Garrett a very happy married life!
Congratulations Amy & Garrett!

Pretty in Pink Sorority Pref. Night at Porter Valley

Reading this blog, you may be under the impression that all we do here at Porter Valley is weddings & showers. But often we get requests to use the Club for less traditional affairs...

Such was the case when Delta Delta Delta came to us to have their Pref. Night in our Grill Room on a Monday when the club is usually closed. We obliged & were happy to have these spirited young women hold their event at our Club. Little did we know, how girly it was all about to turn!

I am not exagerating here, the girls brought in colorful arrangements, but everything else in the room was hot pink! From the linen, to the drapping on our curtains, to the lighting...I felt like I had just stepped on the set of Legally Blonde!

Each table had pink, glittery frames with the sorority's literature in it. I started experiencing a flash back to my sorority days; it was fun to see another group go through all the prep. & excitement of choosing their newest members.

I really liked the setup they used with different size & shaped tables. They wanted to keep it intimate so each table only seated a few girls.

Small gifts for the girls that were pledging were ready to be handed out on the way out.

They had a cute photo collage in the middle of the room to give their potentially new sisters a look at what could be to come for them in their sorority life.

The sisters  also handed out our hors d'oeuvres for their pledges as they came in the room.

Here are the sorority girls bidding their new pledges fairwell as they sing a song to them by our fountain. This is definitely a first for Porter Valley, but we welcome all kinds of events & this one, though extremely prim & pink, was surely a success.

Ladies, thank you for having your sorority Pref. Night here at Porter Valley.
Hope the new pledges joined the sorority!

Real Wedding Inspiration: Rebecca & John's Romantic Red & Black Wedding

It's time for a little more real wedding inspiration for you from our past brides & grooms!

This wedding was for a super sweet couple & lovely family...

Rebecca & John decided to go with a very romantic red & black color scheme for their wedding.

For the seating chart, they went a more modern, less fussy route opting for a seating chart list of names, instead of the usual individual seating cards (grouping guests under the first letters of the last names to make it easier for everyone to locate their names).

A fun touch to decorate the area around the guest book-The groom used his artistic talent to sketch the couple's images on these canvases that were propped up around the reception table. The red rose petals & candles also helped to set the mood from the moment the guests arrived at this romantic affair.

The white arbor got a black tie upgrade with black fabric draped over the front & two large arrangements on the side & top corner. I like that it's not symmetrical because it made it look very chic & modern. Elizabeth at Van Nuys Flowers (one of our preferred vendors who did all the flowers for this wedding) always knocks it out of the park!

That walk down the aisle sure looks pretty with red rose petals tossed on the bright green grass leading up to the arbor! Outdoor weddings are so picturesque...

Case in point, this killer view! I took this photo with my simple point & shoot camera, so just imagine what your photographer can capture on your big day!

Normally I don't show photos of our clients, but this photo is abstract enough to keep the bride's identity private & the train on her dress just has to be seen! Such a gorgeous & happy bride too!
(By the way, that's Julie, our Private Events Director, on the left sending the bride off with her dad for her big moment!)

The room, looking sophisticated & stylish with black chair covers, black linen table cloths to the floor, white napkins with a pocket fold, & all red roses in the arrangements...

The square vase of the arrangements & candles made for a clean, streamlined look.

For the favor, the couple gave each guests a heart shaped wine bottle stopper with personalized ribbon with their names & wedding date. A perfect parting gift to remind guests of their loving celebration!

The sweetheart table had the prettiest white draping that really made it stand out from the rest of the tables.

And for the couple's wedding toast...personalized flutes of course!

Now moving closer to the cake, one of the most anticipated elements of every reception...

Served with no less than this elegant personalized server & cake knife...

And what a gorgeous cake it was! Notice all the detailed scroll work by Jaqki's Bakery? No wonder our brides love her cakes. The black ribbon & red roses topping the cake are the perfect touch.

Would you like a piece?

Congratulations again Rebecca & John!

Thank you for celebrating your special day at Porter Valley!
